"SIAR 50" EXHIBITION November 2005 - February 2006
50 Years
of Contemporary Irish Art
In November 2005, The Contemporary Irish Art Society joined forces
with the Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA) to present an important exhibition of artworks, celebrating the development of
Irish contemporary art over the past 50 years.
The exhibition comprised approximately 100 works, selected
from the society’s purchases, and the private collections of our members. The exhibition provided a unique opportunity
to see some of the very best of Irish art including works by leading Irish artists such as Louis le Brocquy, Robert Ballagh,
Brian Bourke, Patrick Collins, Barrie Cooke, Pat Scott, Tony O’Malley, Michael Farrell and many others.
